My top 20 K-drama list

Annyeonghaseyo ♥ Yes !!! I am a K-Drama fan too. I have been a K-Drama fan for more than a decade now and I still find myself enthralled by the stories, characters and music of these shows. From the heartwarming romances to the thrilling mysteries, there is something for everyone in Korean dramas.

It was around 2010, when my cousin first introduced me to the world of K-dramas, I was a bit skeptical. But after watching Boys Over Flowers, I was hooked! I, like everyone else who is watching K-drama for the first time, found it funny at first, especially because of the language used in the drama (as its a whole new unexplored genre). But it eventually became addictive. From then on, I started exploring more K-dramas and indulged myself in this new culture.

As someone who has watched a lot of K-dramas, I can tell you that there is something quite engaging about them that I couldn't stop watching. From the gripping storylines to the amazing characters, K-dramas never fail to amuse me. So if you’re looking for something new to watch, why not give K-dramas a try? You won’t regret it! And who knows you might just discover a new favorite.

I wish I could forget some of my favorite K-dramas and watch them again for the first time. Here are the ones at the top of my list ♥♥♥.

If you're new to K-dramas, this list will definitely help you get started.

1. Coffee Prince

(⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | IMDB : 8.2 )

This drama immediately made to the top of my favorite K-Drama list as soon as I started watching it. This was my second Gong Yoo drama, and seeing young Gong Yoo in this 2007 drama was odd for the first few minutes. But as the drama progressed I fell in love with his character. I was smitten by Eun Hye and Gong Yoo's chemistry ♥♥♥. A light romantic comedy that made me giggle a lot.

2. Descendants of the Sun

(⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | IMDB : 8.2 )

Song Joong Ki is the cutest ♥♥♥. I can binge watch this drama at any time. This drama has made me cry the most. Everything about it is fascinating: the songs, the romance, the storyline, the setting, and so on. Probably the only drama in which I also liked the chemistry of the supporting characters. If you are a beginner, I would recommend to begin your K-drama journey with this one.

3. Boys Over Flowers

(⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | IMDB : 7.8 )

Goo Joon Pyoooooo ♥ !!!!!! My First K-Drama !!! The timeless classic that introduced me to the K-Drama world. I don't even remember how many times I've watched this one. At least 3 out of every 5 K-drama viewers have watched this drama, and those who did fell in love with Goo Joon Pyo, without a shadow of a doubt !! The storyline is quite engaging and will take you on a roller coaster ride with numerous twists while also making you laugh with the humor. Also loved how the drama has depicted the friendship between the four heirs.

4. Oh My Venus

(⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | IMDB : 7.8 )

One of the cutest rom-com. A lighthearted and heartwarming K-drama that will leave you smiling. The show promotes body positivity and self-acceptance while also delving into themes of love, friendship, and personal growth. This drama gave me butterflies in almost every episode.

5. Alchemy of Souls (1 & 2)

(⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐| IMDB : 8.8 )

If you're into story with suspense and plot twists that will always keep you on edge, this drama is for you. P.S. This fantasy drama is a masterpiece and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

6. Something in the Rain

(⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐| IMDB : 8.1 )

This drama is for diehard fans of the romance genre, such as myself. I started watching it for Son Ye-Jin but ended up giving my heart to Jung Hae-In. His utter cuteness and chemistry with Ye-Jin left me spellbound. With beautiful cinematography and soulful music, this drama was indeed an emotional one and is definitely not like any other romance drama.

7. The King: Eternal Monarch

(⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐| IMDB : 8.1 )

"A modern-day king who travels through a mysterious portal into a parallel world." - This plot was compelling enough for me to binge-watch. And indeed it was worth watching. Lee Min ho is and always will be my favourite K-drama actor, and his charismatic performance has always won my heart. I loved his bromance with Do Hwan. The way the actors played their dual characters was unique and impressive.

8. What's Wrong with Secretary Kim

13. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

(⭐⭐⭐⭐| IMDB : 8.4 )

This coming-of-age drama features strong characters and standout performances. The theme of this drama is majorly based on 'following you dreams' and in some way it has definitely motivated me. Set in a sports university setting with lovable characters, and a story about enemies turning into lovers, this series has always piqued my interest.

14. Healer

(⭐⭐⭐⭐| IMDB : 8.5 )

Full of action and thriller. Ji Chang Wook's martial arts skills in this drama was both thrilling and visually stunning. Not to mention his great chemistry with Park Min Young.

15. The Bride of Habaek

(⭐⭐⭐⭐| IMDB : 6.9 )

Personally, I found this drama a bit underrated. Nam Joo-hyuk's performances have never failed to enchant me. The chemistry between the two leads is palpable, and their relationship unfolds in an entertaining and emotionally engaging manner.

16. Legend of the Blue Sea

One thing I like about K-dramas is how they depict the characters' ambitions and dreams, which inspires you and makes you want to pursue your own. This drama's seamless execution, combined with humor, action, and romance, made it a must-see for me. OST of this drama is soo good !!
